Sénècoura
Mali, West Africa
Sénècoura
Located near the KITA solar plant, the Sénécoura project supports 120 rural women — many from minority backgrounds — through income-generating activities such as market gardening, poultry farming, soybean cultivation, and tree planting (including cashew and jatropha) across a 12-hectare site.
In partnership with ACTED — a French NGO specialising in international solidarity — the project adopts the “Farmer Field School” approach, a hands-on training model that builds practical skills in sustainable farming, pest management, crop diversification, and soil fertility.
Following the acquisition of Akuo, Taranis has decided to continue the project as Sénécoura embodies our Inclusive Futures theme by creating long-term opportunities for underrepresented groups while promoting climate-resilient agriculture alongside renewable energy.

As part of the initial stages of this project, we are working on understanding the key challenges experienced by the local communities, made up of several villages close to the site. Facing water access and sanitation issues, we want to ensure lasting positive effects by addressing these lasting challenges together with the local community.

These whistleblowing channels may also be used by external stakeholders to report a violation.
